Amsterdam, april 1st 2016 – Ramada Apollo Amsterdam Centre meets all the strict requirements of the Quiet Room®  label. After extensive measurements,  all rooms have been approved and have received the Quiet Room® label. We are proud to announce  that 434 rooms have been classified as class 2 and 12 rooms are classified as class 3. With this classification, Ramada Apollo Hotel Amsterdam Centre has the most class 2 hotel rooms in the Netherlands.

Noise complaints are the number one complaints amongst hotel guests. Guests cannot foresee  how silent a hotel room will be. ”At our hotels, there has been a noticeable increase in guests requesting a silent room. Consequently, this one of the reasons why we requested Quiet Room to test our rooms. With this label we can assure our guests, prior to arrival, that our rooms are evaluated and tested to be silent”, says Alexander Kluit, Business Area Manager of the chain.

Ramada Apollo Amsterdam Centre is not located in the middle of the city centre, nevertheless it is located near the city ring of Amsterdam. The surroundings of the hotel nor the amount of stars do not promise anything about the level of noise in the rooms. Not only the surrounding sounds are measured during the tests of Quiet Room, but also the level of sound in the hotel, like air-conditioning or ventilation systems, sound from other rooms and sound from the corridors. ‘It is exceptional that all rooms have received the label. The sound level is tested per room and the label is given per room. As a result, a lot of hotels only have a few rooms that meet the requirements. For our hotel this is a result to be proud of’, commented Alexander Kluit.

The Quiet Room® label
The Quiet Room® label is the first and only objective label for the level of noise pollution in hotel rooms. The testsof the label are executed by an external party, the Knowledge Centre Sound Insulation (KGI). Currently, approximately 100 hotels in the Netherlands have received a QR-label. The label has three levels, class 1 meaning a maximum sound level of 43 decibel. For class 2 the sound level cannot exceed 48 decibel, and for class 3 the maximum amount of decibel is 54.
