Amsterdam, April 15, 2015 – In the heart of Amsterdam Old South, where five canals merge, the fifth establishment of The Harbour Club will open its doors. The Harbour Club Kitchen, a new unique restaurant concept, is the result of a joint venture between Apollo Hotels & Resorts and The Harbour Club. It will be housed in the Wyndham Apollo Hotel.
At this historical site located on the waters, the culinary surprise of 2015 will open its doors the end of May. For many Wyndham Apollo Hotel is seen as the living room of Old South together with the Brasserie Marina Loungebar and the successful fine dining restaurant LaSirène, which entered the restaurant guide Lekker Top 100 last year. The collaboration with the trendy restaurant concept of owners John de Jong and Richard van Leeuwen corresponds to the vision of the hotel. The past years there has been invested heavily in the hotel. Recently all rooms have been completely renovated. ‘’The introduction of The Harbour Club Kitchen fits extremely well with the initiated modernization of the hotel and adds to the total experience for the guest”, thus Alexander Kluit, Area General Manager of Apollo Hotels & Resorts.
John de Jong, owner of The Harbour Group, adds: "The Wyndham Apollo Hotel is a dream location to us! Why? The location on the water, the international character of the hotel, but also the scope of the hotel: from the Amsterdam resident to the corporate guest and from tourist to the conference visitors. "
The Harbour Club Kitchen is already the third restaurant of The Harbour Group in Amsterdam, next to The Harbour Club and The Oyster Club.
The Harbour Club Kitchen will share the culinary tradition with which the other establishments of the restaurant chain have become a success. The new concept also distinguishes itself by the way the food is prepared, including making use of the barbecue 365 days per year. A lazy Sunday lunch, a corporate diner on Tuesday night or a sparkling Thursday night out with friends. But moreover, The Harbour Club Kitchen also is an event venue with charm. Due to the spacious layout, the restaurant is the ideal place to accommodate larger groups and therefore the perfect location for a drink, reception or dinner. The processing of various materials such as wood and steel, give the restaurant a tough and rebellious look. And also here the familiar round seats are integrated in the interior. The neatly designed bar creates an intimate atmosphere. All year round and in all weather conditions guests enjoy the cities’ best spot by the water.
The Harbour Club Kitchen is opened seven days a week for lunch and dinner and accommodates up to 250 guests. The waterside restaurant offers free Wi-Fi and is situated within a 5 minute drive from the ring and the center of Amsterdam. It offers parking, valet parking and the possibility of docking boats. Reservations are possible from Friday, May 29th through the website or by telephone.
