IJmuiden, 15 March 2017 – On 1 April, a new flag will be fluttering in IJmuiden. The Apollo Hotel in IJmuiden says goodbye to the Holiday Inn and InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) franchise. On 1 April, the new hotel name will be: Apollo Hotel IJmuiden Seaport Beach.  

Leaving the franchise is part of the new vision of Apollo Hotels. Since 2015, the chain has been working hard on a new brand identity with a matching logo and a new name: Apollo Hotels. The addition of Resorts has been removed from the brand name. The aim: to position Apollo Hotels as a strong, independent and distinctive brand.

In January, Apollo Hotels had already replaced the franchise brands of Best Western and Wyndham in Amsterdam. Soon the new logo will adorn the hotel in Ijmuiden too. In the visual of the large A, one can distinguish the shape of a person. “This represents the guest, who is central in our hotels. Our employees make the difference. They break the conventional hotel rules when needed to ensure that our guests have a wonderful stay and come back. After all, why standardise everything? Our guests are not standard either,” says Francesco Monaco, director and co-founder of Apollo Hotels.

The hotel in IJmuiden has been managed by Apollo Hotels since 2010. Every Apollo Hotel has its own identity, including Apollo Hotel IJmuiden Seaport Beach. There will be no management changes as a result of the rebranding of the property. “The philosophy of Apollo Hotels fits perfectly with the hotel and the team. With the ideal location at the beach, one could call it the business hotel by the sea. The hotel has plenty of opportunities and possibilities to organise exciting events”, according to Ivo Fransoo, General Manager of Apollo Hotel IJmuiden Seaport Beach.
