Papendrecht, September 16, 2021 - On 15 September, Apollo Hotel Papendrecht changed its name to Leonardo Hotel Papendrecht and will continue under the flag of Leonardo Hotels. Alderman Pieter Paans officially opened the renovated hotel yesterday by revealing the new logo together with General Manager Natasja Visser. This rebranding is part of the extensive repositioning of all Apollo Hotels in the Netherlands.

In 2021 and 2022, the Apollo hotels will be rebranded as Leonardo Hotels, operated by the Fattal Hotel Group. This is one of the fastest growing hospitality businesses in Europe. The process that was temporarily halted last year due to the international impact of Covid-19 is now continuing. This will allow the hotels to benefit from the strength of the Leonardo brand.

With Leonardo Hotels, Fattal Hotel Group brings international allure and a matching appearance to the Netherlands. For each hotel a suitable rebranding, design and unique concept is sought. 

Leonardo Hotel Papendrecht
Leonardo Hotel Papendrecht is located near the Drechtsteden with nature within easy reach. It is the only hotel in the Alblasserwaard with the famous windmills of Kinderdijk only 10 kilometres away. The hotel therefore mainly attracts cycling enthusiasts, who like to explore the beautiful surroundings. Those who feel more like exploring the city can get to Rotterdam by water bus within half an hour. The hotel itself also offers enough possibilities. Natasja is happy that after all the preparations in the past months, the Leonardo flag is now flying in Papendrecht. "This makes us stronger and better known as a brand." The hotel is praised in reviews for their service and hospitality. Natasja is determined that this service will remain the same with the current rebranding.

Acquisition of Apollo Hotels

In 2018, the management of Apollo Hotels decided to sell the chain. Fattal Hotel Group was looking for growth opportunities in the Dutch market and took over the well-known hotel chain. Fattal Hotel Group decides to expand their now well-known brand in Europe, Leonardo Hotels.

The rebranding of the hotels is in full swing. This autumn, two more Apollo Hotels are expected to undergo the re-branding, including the hotels in Groningen and Vinkeveen. Other hotels, including Leonardo Royal Hotel Den Haag Promenade are undergoing a partial refurbishment.
