Lelystad, July 14, 2021 - On July 13, Apollo Hotel Lelystad City Centre changed its name to Leonardo Hotel Lelystad City Center and will continue under the flag of Leonardo Hotels. Alderman Adam Elzakalai officially opened the renewed hotel yesterday by cutting the ribbon together with Hotel Manager Sander Kiezebrink. This rebranding is part of the extensive repositioning of all Apollo Hotels in the Netherlands.
In 2021 and 2022, the Apollo Hotels (except for Apollo Hotel Amsterdam) will be rebranded as Leonardo Hotels, which are operated by the Fattal Hotel Group. This is one of the fastest growing hospitality companies in Europe. The process was temporarily halted last year due to the international impact of Covid-19 but is now continuing. This will allow the hotels to benefit from the strength of the Leonardo brand."
With Leonardo Hotels, Fattal Hotel Group brings international allure and a matching image to the Netherlands. For each hotel an appropriate rebranding, interior design and unique concept is sought.
Leonardo Hotel Lelystad City Center
Leonardo Hotel Lelystad City Center is located in the centre of Lelystad. The city is seen by Leonardo Hotels as a growth centre for the tourism sector in the Netherlands. The expansion of Lelystad Airport, the renovation of public spaces in the city centre and the increase in business activity will make Lelystad even more attractive for overnight stays in the future.
“Our brand is changing, but our service remains the same", says Hotel Manager Sander Kiezebrink. “We are happy to join Leonardo Hotels and have been making all the preparations in recent months. Leonardo believes in us and in Lelystad. Together we are building a bright future and we look forward to welcoming guests to Leonardo Hotel Lelystad from now on."
The takeover of Apollo Hotels
In 2018, the management of Apollo Hotels decided to sell the chain. Fattal Hotel Group was looking for growth opportunities in the Dutch market and took over the well-known hotel chain. Fattal Hotel Group has decided to expand their now well-known brand in Europe, Leonardo Hotels.
The rebranding of the hotels is in full swing. This year four more Apollo Hotels are expected to undergo the rebranding, including the hotels in Almere and Papendrecht. Other hotels, including Leonardo Royal Hotel Den Haag Promenade are undergoing a partial renovation.
